Drogba supports the return of Jose Mourinho to Chelsea FC

Chelsea FC transfer news reports must be ringing with former Blues player Didier Drogba’s statement about the return of Jose Mourinho to Stamford Bridge. The Ivory coast international has stated that Chelsea FC is still an attraction for the Real Madrid coach, who has been constantly linked with a move to the Blues.

Drogba is currently playing for the Turkish giants, Galatasaray, after a short stint with Chinese club, Shanghai Shenhua. The forward left Chelsea FC last summer after the Blues won the Champions League. Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich has been searching for a replacement for Rafa Benitez, who is set to exit at the end of this season.

Drogba also stated that he would fancy a move back to Stamford Bridge after he is done with his stay at Galatasaray, probably in an administrative role. According to the former star of the Blues, Mourinho has unfinished business with Chelsea FC and it would be the best move on the club’s part to bring the ‘Special One’ back to Stamford Bridge.

Talking about the return of Mourinho, Drogba said, “When he came, he brought success. We won league titles back-to-back with some great football and the only thing he didn’t win was the Champions League. Maybe that is one of the reasons why he might want to come back. It is unfinished business. I don’t think he’s got over Chelsea. They haven’t got over him. I think for the club it is the best solution to bring Jose back. The fans want him back. He loves Chelsea.”

Rafa Benitez has not been accepted by the Blues’ fans while Mourinho still holds a special place among the supporters of the Stamford Bridge side. Mourinho’s contract with Real Madrid ends this summer, thus speculations about his return continue to grow.
