The US self-defence instructor Tim Larkin, who is accused of promoting vigilante behaviour with his teaching techniques, has been banned from entering Britain by Home Secretary Theresa May.

Last night, Tim Larkin was prevented from boarding a flight to the UK from Las Vegas and was handed a letter from the UK Border Agency saying he had been excluded from the UK because “his presence was not conducive to the public good.”

Larkin in an interview with BBC Radio 4′s Today programme billed his exclusion a “gross overreaction”, saying there was “nothing outrageous” about his views, and his intention in visiting the UK, was not to incite “violence”.

“It says there’s no right of appeal. I have a lot of support over in the UK, I have people I can go to, there are Members of Parliament I’m sure I can go to, and maybe this can be reconsidered,” he said.

The Home Office spokeswoman said, “The home secretary will seek to exclude an individual if she considers that his or her presence in the UK is not conducive to the public good.”

Larkin runs a company teaching combat to military and law enforcement clients in the United States. He teaches self-defence techniques, which according to his own website, are designed to inflict “crippling pain” to an attacker.

Tim Larkin had been invited to The Martial Arts Show conference in Birmingham on 12 and 13 May to be a keynote speaker, and to hold a seminar in Tottenham. The news of his exclusion had sparked outrage, with the former chairman of Birmingham City Council’s public protection committee Coun Neil Eustace and West Midlands Police both hitting out.

Interesting policy. They let in West-hating, Jew-killing, Church-burning Jihadists, but a self-defense instructor? why, he’s a threat to the public good!
The sun has definitely on the British Empire. You guys are finished.
