Romeo Beckham, the 10-year-old son of ace footballer David Beckham, has taken after his father as he forays into the modelling world by featuring in the latest Burberry campaign showcasing the fashion house’s spring/summer 2013 collection.

The second son of former England football captain David Beckham and Spice Girl Victoria joins a British cast featuring the likes of Cara Delevigne for the Burberry campaign. For his debut, Romeo Beckham was lauded by creative boss of Burberry Christopher Bailey, who said, “He stole the show”, adding that Romeo was “a joy to work with”.

For the Burberry campaign, a smiling Romeo Beckham appeared in a classic Burberry trench coat and holding an umbrella, balancing himself on one leg. The campaign also sees Cara, Edie Campbell, Charlotte Wiggins, Charlie France and Alex Dunstan and Max Rendell along with Romeo Beckham.

As part of the Burberry deal, Romeo Beckham is believed to have been given up to £100,000 to spend on the designer’s new range. And his brothers – Brooklyn, 13, and Cruz, six – and Harper, one, have also been given free Burberry items.

Romeo Beckham, who was photographed by top fashion photographer Mario Testino, was adamant on participating in the shoot. A source said, “Romeo has always been a little style icon. He was adamant he wanted to take part in the campaign and badgered his parents to let him do it.�

David Beckham disclosed his son’s love for fashion to Grazia Daily, when he said, ”Brooklyn will just wear his soccer shirts and T-shirts, but Romeo is the fashion one, so he’ll go for skinny jeans and a vintage T-shirt and funny hats. One Christmas he asked for a pair of Spats shoes.”
