Sylvester Stalloneās 36-year-old son Sage has been found dead in his flat in Studio City, near Hollywood, on Friday, provoking assumptions by some sources that he had died from drug overdose.
An autopsy was conducted on Sunday morning, reported Los Angeles County Coronerās Office spokeswoman Cheryl MacWillie. She added, “But the results from the toxicology screening will probably not be back for at least 10 weeks.” His room was littered with cigarette butts, beer and ātwo drawers filled with various pill bottlesā, a police source told celebrity news website TMZ. However, no sign of trauma could be found and there was no suicide note.
Sage Stalloneās lawyer, George Braunstein, who informed that the body had been found by a housekeeper, told E! television network, “He was very creative, energetic and very full of life. We were just joking about how he was going to get married and have a fun marriage. There was nothing dark or depressing, no problems, certainly no financial problems.”
“Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son, Sage Stallone… His loss will be felt forever,” stated the starās publicist, Michelle Bega, who added, “His compassion and thoughts are with Sageās mother, Sasha,” referring to Sasha Czack, the starās first wife.
After Stalloneās split from Sasha, Sage, the eldest of Sylvesterās five children from three marriages, grew distant from his father, but the relationship was restored after the pair played father and son in Rocky V in 1990. The pair also acted together in the 1996 movie Daylight.
36-year-old Sage has acted in 13 big-screen roles and produced on three films, including the 2006 short Vic, which he also wrote and directed.
