2Day FM DJs to be quizzed over Kate Middleton’s nurse Jacintha Saldanha’s alleged suicide

Investigations are underway of the alleged suicide of Kate Middleton’s nurse Jacintha Saldanha who, according to sources, was under acute stress after giving out confidential information about Kate Middleton’s condition owing to a prank call made by two Australian DJs.

The 2Day FM DJs Mel Greig and Michael Christian, who made the prank call will be questioned by Australian police following a request by Scotland Yard, which will gather evidence for an inquest into Jacintha Saldanha’s death.

As news of Jacintha Saldanha’s death broke out, the 2Day FM DJs who pulled the prank on Jacintha Saldanha who was caring for Kate Middleton in hospital, have been suspended from services since last Friday.

46-year-old Jacintha Saldanha was appointed to Kate Middleton’s care at the King Edward VII Hospital. Jacintha Saldanha was found dead in nurses’ accommodation last Friday.

Jacintha Saldanha had accepted the prank call from the 2Day FM DJs, who impersonated the Queen and Prince Charles, and divulged confidential information about Kate Middleton’s health condition.

The King Edward VII hospital has thrust the blame of nurse Jacintha Saldanha’s apparent suicide on Australian radio station 2Day FM, but the owners of the radio station retorted by saying that the hospital should examine its own role in the tragedy.

After spending three nights at hospital last week, Kate Middleton’s condition worsened again on Sunday around lunchtime, as she spent the weekend at Kensington Palace. Prince William cancelled his official engagement at the British Military Tournament at London’s Earl Court to be with his wife.

St James Palace said in a statement, “It is well known that hyperemesis gravidarum often recurs and, until further notice, to allow the Duchess a degree of privacy during her pregnancy, we do not intend to offer regular condition checks or advise of routine developments associated with it.”
