The man who was responsible for clicking topless and bottomless Kate Middleton photos has been named and is to be arrested by the French police, as reported by Mail Online. The photographer who violated the privacy of the royal couple took Kate Middleton photos during her stay in French Chateau with her husband Prince William.

The photographer who is now understood to be in police custody is likely to be jailed for up to one year and fined £36,000 for breach of privacy, if proven that he took Kate Middleton photos while she was sunbathing topless and bottomless on the balcony of a holiday chateau in Provence.

Owing to defamation faced by Kate Middleton due to the publication of the intimate pictures across tabloids around the world, Prince William launched a criminal complaint in Paris. Prince William won an injunction preventing Closer from publishing further Kate Middleton naked photos as French courts ordered a criminal investigation into charges that Closer and a photographer breached the privacy of the royal couple.

The snapper is believed to have taken 200 explicit Kate Middleton photos. A royal source said, “William and Kate are ­determined to bring the ­person who took those photos to ­justice and they’re pushing hard for a ­custodial sentence. They want to make an example of this person.”

Kate Middleton was devastated when she saw her naked pictures splash across tabloids such as French Closer magazine, Italian magazine Chi, followed by a Danish magazine Se & Hoer. At the time when the photos were taken, Kate Middleton and husband William, 30, had been ­staying a week earlier at the Chateau d’Autet, owned by the Queen’s nephew, Lord Linley.
